Chevrolet Unveils Life-Size Version of LEGO Batman's Batmobile

This weekend at the North American International Auto Show, Chevrolet unveiled a life-size version of the Batmobile that will appear in Warner Bros.' upcoming LEGO Batman Movie.
Spending 222 hours to design and 1,833 hours to build, the 17-foot-long and 9-and-a quarter-foot-wide vehicle was assembled by the Lego Model Shop in Enfield, Connecticut. They used 344,187 bricks (in 17 colors), tires weighing over 100 lbs. each, and 86 feet of square tube aluminum for the interior to build it. Its total weight is 1,695.5 pounds.

"To work on the LEGO Batmobile with Warner Bros. is an absolute thrill for us at Chevy," Paul Edwards, U.S. vice president of Chevrolet marketing, said in a press release. "Many of the themes in 'The LEGO Batman Movie,' like imagination, family and community, align perfectly with our Chevy brand values and add to the value of the partnership."
As for the Batmobile appearing in the film, it comes with lots of cool features.

In the irreverent spirit of fun that made The LEGO Movie a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble – LEGO Batman – stars in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker's hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.
Will Arnett reprises his starring role from The LEGO Movie as the voice of LEGO Batman, aka Bruce Wayne. Zach Galifianakis (Hangover films) stars as The Joker; Michael Cera (TV's Arrested Development) as the orphan Dick Grayson; Rosario Dawson (TV's Daredevil) as Barbara Gordon; and Ralph Fiennes (Harry Potter films) as Alfred.
The LEGO Batman Movie is directed by Chris McKay and produced by Dan Lin, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Roy Lee, who worked together on The LEGO Movie. It is written by Seth Grahame-Smith and Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers, with additional screenplay material by Jared Stern & John Whittington, based on LEGO Construction Toys. Jill Wilfert, Matthew Ashton and Will Allegra serve as executive producers.
The LEGO Batman Movie will open in theaters on February 10, 2017.
