Exclusive DC Preview: Cyborg #2 From John Semper, Jr. and Paul Pelletier

DC has provided ComicBook.com with an exclusive preview of next week's Cyborg #2, the third part of "The Imitation of Life," the first Cyborg storyline of the Rebirth era.

In the run-up to this storyline, writer John Semper, Jr. has teased that Vic Stone will end up squaring off against nearly every robot, android and cyborg in the DC Universe along the road to finally putting to bed the question of just how much of him is human.

Next week's issue is a step in that direction as Vic faces Kilg%re, an occasional menace to The Flash, the Titans, and the Justice League International in the pre-Flashpoint era. Menacing STAR Labs and Cyborg seems to be the first big move the character has made in recent years.

"I think [Vic's issue in the past] has been, 'Am I human or am I not? Oh, woe is me. Am I human or am I not?' Now it's like, 'Am I a monster? Am I good for humanity or am I not good for humanity?' I think that's a different question," Semper told ComicBook.com in the run-up to the series' first issue last month. "One of the things that I'm doing is I'm trying to get a little deeper into all of the things that you've seen before. This character, even though you know him, you might not know him as well as you think you do. I'm going to point that out. His relationship with his father, you might think you understand it, but you don't really understand it as well as you're going to understand it after you read this comic book."

Cyborg #2 is written by Static Shock and Spider-Man: The Animated Series veteran John Semper, Jr. and features pencils by Guardians of the Galaxy and Green Lantern standout Paul Pelletier.

Cyborg #2 is due on the stands on next Wednesday, October 5. Get it at your local comic shop or pre-order a digital copy on ComiXology. The issue features inks by Scott Hanna, Tony Kordos, and Tom Palmer, and colors by Guy Major.
