Supergirl: Guardian Makes A New Friend In City Of Lost Children Featurette

In newest Supergirl featurette, co-executive producer Jessica Queller and executive producer Robert Rovner preview tomorrow night's "City of Lost Children" episode -- which will feature James feeling downhearted and blue when he realizes the people of National City fear his superhero identity.
"It's a big episode for James [Olsen]," Rovner says. "All season long he's been moonlighting as Guardian, and he's been realzing that he's not been inspiring hope the same way that Supergirl does and people are more afraid of him than see him as somebody that can inspire them. We have an alien terrorist that attacks they city. It's a Borean, which is a very powerful telekentic alien. They think there are going to more, but the alien disappears. James finds the alien's son, this young boy who's played by Lonnie Chavis -- who is from This Is Us. He's so cute and such a wonderful addition to the cast in this episode, a real wonderful actor. And it's great to see mehcad and Lonnie play off of each other
Queller adds: "They work so beautifully together, and it's really a powerful relationship. And we're so grateful to have such a wonderful young actor."
When an alien attacks National City, Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and the DEO learn the alien is a Phorian, an otherwise peaceful race with telekinetic powers. Guardian (Mehcad Brooks) gets a lead on the Phorian's address but instead of finding the culprit, he finds a very scared boy named Marcus (guest star Lonnie Chavis). Marcus will only trust James so it is up to Guardian to stop the attacks on the city. Rhea's (Teri Hatcher) plan escalates.
