Teri Hatcher's Supergirl Character Is Like Nothing She's Ever Played

Superman alum Teri Hatcher is making her debut in The CW's Supergirl soon (which holds a 80.88 on ComicBook.com's composite ranking), though who she's playing is still being kept secret. What fans do know is that the role will be unlike anything she's ever played before.

That includes her previous role as Lois in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, played oppositive Dean Cain as Clark Kent. Hatcher's played a variety of parts throughout her career, but executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told ComicBook.com's Russ Burlingame that this role won't be like any of those previous parts.

"Oh yeah. What's so amazing is she's so not playing Lois and she is so not playing kind of any character I've ever seen her play before. She's so not Susan from Desperate housewives and she's really playing something completely different that was in her repertoire of all the things that she's ever done and she's doing it amazingly. So it's really exciting for us because it's like, you know, usually with some of these things you know it's like "oh it's just a pale carbon copy or they're just repeating themselves"

Actress Chyler Leigh, who plays Alex Danvers on the show, agrees with Kriesberg's assessment, saying "She can say one word and then all of a sudden the way that she says it you're like "ooh, I don't want to cross her." She's got a lot of power in that teeny tiny little frame of hers."

As Alex (Chyler Leigh) searches for Jeremiah (guest star Dean Cain) and Kara (Melissa Benoist) investigates a series of alien kidnappings, the sisters realize they must break the rules to foil a new Cadmus plot. In an effort to get Snapper Carr (guest star Ian Gomez) to run a story that would help her stop Cadmus, Kara agrees to set up an interview between Snapper and Supergirl.

Supergirl airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT. "Exodus" airs on March 6.
