Charlize Theron Turned Down A Wonder Woman Role

The cast of Wonder Woman came together to deliver the most acclaimed DCEU movie yet, but it turns out at one point it could have featured the talented Charlize Theron in a key role.

Theron recently appeared on the Howard Stern Show, where Stern asked about her part in Wonder Woman. Theron wasn't in the film, but thanks to the mistake revealed that she at one point was considered for a role (via Batman-News).

"No, I'm not in Wonder Woman," Theron said, also revealing that Jenkins did ask. "We're friends. I think the world of her. We have a mutual respect for each other. She did come to me, and at the time I was either working on something or I don't know. There was a reason I couldn't do it."

The part Stern was referring to was Robin Wright's character General Antiope, who delivered a fantastic performance in the part. Still, Theron is a plausible fit for the role, so that could be the part she eventually turned down.

Either way, it worked out for all in the end, and it would be hard to imagine Wonder Woman without Wright's performance.

Wonder Woman currently enjoys an 84.78 on ComicBook.com's anticipation rankings, and you can find the description below.

Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action-adventure from director Patty Jenkins. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.
