Charlize Theron Turned Down A Wonder Woman Role

The cast of Wonder Woman came together to deliver the most acclaimed DCEU movie yet, but it turns out at one point it could have featured the talented Charlize Theron in a key role.
Theron recently appeared on the Howard Stern Show, where Stern asked about her part in Wonder Woman. Theron wasn't in the film, but thanks to the mistake revealed that she at one point was considered for a role (via Batman-News).
"No, I'm not in Wonder Woman," Theron said, also revealing that Jenkins did ask. "We're friends. I think the world of her. We have a mutual respect for each other. She did come to me, and at the time I was either working on something or I don't know. There was a reason I couldn't do it."
The part Stern was referring to was Robin Wright's character General Antiope, who delivered a fantastic performance in the part. Still, Theron is a plausible fit for the role, so that could be the part she eventually turned down.
Either way, it worked out for all in the end, and it would be hard to imagine Wonder Woman without Wright's performance.

The film stars Gal Gadot (Diana Prince/Wonder Woman), Chris Pine (Steve Trevor), Robin Wright (General Antiope), Connie Nielsen (Queen Hippolyta), David Thewlis, Elena Anaya, Lucy Davis (Etta Candy), Danny Huston, Ewen Bremmer, Doutzen Kroes, Samantha Jo (Euboea), Florence Kasumba (Senator Acantha), Said Taghmaoui, Eleanor Matsuura (Epione), Emily Carey (Young Diana), and Lisa Loven Kongsli (Menalippe).
Wonder Woman is in theaters now, followed by Justice League on November 17, 2017; Aquaman on July 27, 2018; Shazam on April 5, 2019; Justice League 2 on June 14, 2019; Cyborg on April 3, 2020; and Green Lantern Corps on July 24, 2020. The Flash, The Batman, Dark Universe and Man of Steel 2 are currently without a release dates.
