Storyboards Of Wonder Woman's Ending

Storyboard artist Cristiano Donzelli (Kingdom of Heave, Ben-Hur) has released storyboards that he illustrated for final Wonder Woman scene.

****SPOILERS BELOW!***

Although most of the film is a lengthy flashback and takes place during the tail end of World War I, Wonder Woman begins and ends in the present-day.

The film opens with a Wayne-branded armored truck pulling up in front of the Louvre, where Diana Prince works in its antiquities department. The driver of the truck opens the back and retrieves a Wayne-branded briefcase. He delivers the briefcase to Diana. She opens it and finds that it contains the original black-and-white photograph of Diana in her Wonder Woman costume, posing with Steve Trevor, Sameer, Charlie, and The Chief after they liberated the Belgian town of Veld during WWI.

It's the same photograph that Bruce Wayne looked upon with astonishment in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice while inspecting Lex Luthor's meta-human files. As you know, Bruce is the one that sent the photo to Diana. He also included a note telling her that he hopes one day that she'll "tell him her story." As she gazes upon photo, it induces the flashback, starting with her as a child on Themyscira.

When the flashback concludes, we see that all of those old memories that came flooding back to her -- especially of the love she lost -- have had an emotional impact. As she looks at the photograph, she focuses on Steve's face and touches it lovingly with her fingers. In her hand, we see her clutching the watch Steve gave her in their final moment together. Diana also writes back to Bruce, thanking him for the precious gift.

Can Wonder Woman Fly?

And in the film's final couple of minutes, after Diana is done reminiscing, her voiceover reassures she will continue dedicating her life to justice. And as we hear her voiceover, we see that Diana has put on her Wonder Woman costume, heads to roof of a building, views the Paris cityscape as the sun sets, and when she sees a new threat on the horizon, she leaps off the building to confront it.

In the film, it certainly appears as though Wonder Woman CAN fly. However, in the storyboards, it appears as though she was just going to just to the ground below.

I can just hear Deadpool now saying, "She's gonna do a superhero landing, wait for it!"

The film is produced by Charles Roven, Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder and Richard Suckle, with Rebecca Roven, Stephen Jones, Wesley Coller and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers. Warner Bros. Pictures presents, in association with RatPac-Dune Entertainment, an Atlas Entertainment/Cruel and Unusual production, Wonder Woman.

The film will be released on June 2, 2017.
