Even if you don't follow soccer, you probably recognize the name Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese footballer is widely considered to be one of the best of all time, breaking numerous records and collecting armfuls of awards, and now he's scored the cover of EA Sports' FIFA 18. Well, it was a nice career while it lasted, Ronaldo. Enjoy your curse!

"The world's best player fuels the biggest leap forward on the pitch that we've ever delivered. We are extremely excited to partner with Cristiano – working with him we learned a lot about his unique play style and what makes him so special. His passion, energy and global fanbase make him the perfect ambassador for FIFA 18."

Of course, FIFA 18 will also be getting a special Renaldo Edition. Here's what it contains:

"A player this great deserves something special too: the FIFA 18 Ronaldo Edition. This gives you a bunch of great pre-order offers, including a CR7 starter item in FUT, up to $60 (local pricing TBC) worth of Jumbo Premium Gold Packs and three days early access to FIFA 18, allowing you to play from 26th September."

EA also dropped a FIFA 18 teaser trailer, and dang, this game is looking nice. Sure, EA may have prettied the footage up a little, but this isn't pre-rendered. You can tell this at least started as gameplay footage. Of course, the highlight of the trailer is an uncannily realistic shot of Ronaldo's face. EA has pulled ahead in their "realistic sweat" war with 2K Games!

One more bit of exciting news for PS4 owners – FIFA Ultimate Team Legends, which have been renamed "Icons," will no longer be Xbox One exclusive. So far, EA has announced you'll be able to collect Brazilian legend Ronaldo Nazario in FIFA 18.

FIFA 18 hits the pitch PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, and Nintendo Switch on September 29.
