Square Enix Releasing 30-Year Anniversary Final Fantasy Wine, and We Have Some Nerdy Date Ideas

Square Enix is celebrating 30 years of Final Fantasy in style! As the anniversary festivities continue, fans can check out the Square Enix Online Store to stock up on 30th anniversary mugs, plushies, cards, shirts, and more, but for a more refined (or a wilder) celebration, you may want to check out these specially-themed bottles of commemorative wine!

From a today's press release: "Ifrit Rouge is a 2016 Château des Bois red wine with hints of strawberry and other freshly picked fruits, named after the classic FINAL FANTASY summon associated with fire. Shiva Blanc, taking its name from the legendary ice summon, is a well-balanced 2015 Château des Bois white wine that pairs favorably with a wide range of cuisines. Each bottle features a label and foil adorned with the FINAL FANTASY 30thAnniversary logo as well as a box featuring the art of the summon for which the wine is named."

Are you kidding me? Both of these bottles can be ordered through Winehouse right now (Ifrit Rouge here, and Shiva Blanc here). We're all over this! This isn't a bottle of wine that you'll want to bring to a fancy steakhouse to impress your boss, but it's sure as hell good enough to uncork with the favorite nerd in your life!

Make it a date!

Let's do this right. Grab yourself a bottle of Final Fantasy wine and plan the ultimate nerdy date night with that special someone. When is the last time you planned a proper picnic (or effectively used alliteration)?! With fall right around the corner, now is the time to order a bottle, find your favorite hoodie, and take your real-life Tifa out on a date. You don't have to go to the Golden Saucer to make it special, just hit up your local park and pretend that the chirping birds are Chocobos.

Want to take this to the next level? Instead of a picnic basket, why not find grab a treasure chest to store all of your food and drink? Leave your wine glasses at home, and pour your wine into some potion bottles instead! The Ifrit Rouge will look just like a health potion in that sucker.

Cook Up a Final Fantasy Dinner Together

Why not cook up some Final Fantasy themed food together, and then enjoy the fruits of your labor with a bottle of Final Fantasy wine? If you need meal ideas, look no further than Final Fantasy XV. Final Fantasy XV stands out as the culinary elitist's Final Fantasy since it features so many mouth-watering renderings of some truly extravagant meals... And some not-so-extravagant meals. If you want to go all in without going all in your budget, why not recreate this "mystery meat sushi?"

Come one. We all know that that is. That's some fried spam, a slice of cheese (cut off a fresh slice from a block of Havarti if you want to do this right), and some rice wrapped up in seaweed. We can't guarantee that this will pair well with red or white wine, but hey, it's going to make for some fantastic pictures.

If you don't feel like cooking, then grab some Cup Noodles and call it a night. In fact, that might just be the most Final Fantasy XV thing you could possibly do!
