Injustice 2 Save Bug Causes Players To Lose Progress, But There May Be An Easy Fix

After months of non-stop hype, Injustice 2 has finally arrived and both critics and fans really seem to be digging the latest DC Comics brawler. That said, Injustice 2 has its share of technical snafus and glitches, and one particularly vexing one is rolling back players' hard-earned character progress.

As reported by Kotaku, a number of Injustice 2 players are complaining their characters are randomly losing levels. They'll save and log off with a character at, say, level 20, but when they return to the game, they'll find that character is at level 10 (or some other random number). They're still wearing their level 20 gear, but if they unequip that gear, it can't put back on. This seems to be a fairly widespread, with numerous players complaining about the issue in multiple threads on the official Injustice 2 forums and Reddit community. Considering how much emphasis Injustice 2 puts on its RPG-style leveling and gear, this is a pretty major problem.

Warner Bros. Interactive and NetherRealm Studios are, apparently, aware of the issue and are working on the fix. In the meantime, they've offered the following solution – reset your console. That is to say, actually shut it down, don't just put it into rest mode. It may even help to unplug your console. Leave the system off for at least a minute, then turn it back on, and your levels should (hopefully) be restored.

So yes, the current "solution" is "Have you tried turning it off and on again?" Hey, you can't go wrong with the classics! I have a feeling this won't work in all cases, but it's worth a try. Hopefully we get a more permanent solution soon.
