Injustice 2: Red Hood Release Date Confirmed

NetherRealm Studios just revealed in the latest Injustice 2 Watchtower livestream that Red Hood will be available to play on Tuesday, June 13 for anyone who purchased the deluxe version of Injustice 2 or the first fighter pack. Players who purcahsed neither who want to buy Red Hood a la carte will be able to do so a week later.

Keep in mind that the fighter pack is still available for $19.99. The first fighter pack entitles you to the first three DLC characters as they're released. This includes Red Hood, of course, and then Starfire and Sub-Zero as their respective release dates roll around. The deluxe edition of Injustice 2 will set you back $79.99 and comes with Fighter Pack 1. If you know for a fact that you need all 9 eventual DLC characters in your life, the $99.99 Ultimate Edition of Injustice 2 is the one for you.

As for Red Hood, it was shown in the Watchtower stream that he'll be able to play pretty effectively as a ranged character in a pinch, but is a much deadlier hand-to-hand fighter. For someone who is known for using his guns, Red Hood uses his firearms somewhat sparingly through his moveset, busting caps only occasionally to compliment a combo or perform a few zoning moves.

For how flashy his moves look, Red Hood could prove to be an all-around balanced fighter suitable for newer players since he has a variety of techniques at his disposal to remedy against certain play styles. For the bunny-hopping hyper-fighters he has a fantastic air grab. For combo-happy button-mashers he has deadly mid and low counters that can be meter-burned to do some great rebuttal damage. When you need to create space in a hurry or close in in a hurry, he has front and backward dives that will do just that.

He's an exciting character, and we can't wait to show him off to you soon. Stay tuned to WWG for more.
