Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite recently revealed the final members of its roster, but are those the only characters we'll see in the game? Sure, 30 fighters is a pretty solid number, but the game's story mode may feel a bit thin if the game is restricted to only those characters. Well, thankfully, it turns out MvC: Infinite's story mode will branch out to include a variety of other Marvel and Capcom faces.

Game Informer recently went hands-on with Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite's story mode, and here's what they had to say about the appearance of non-roster characters:

"Although the emphasis is definitely still on the 30 characters who will make up the game's initial roster, we will definitely see characters outside of it. We've seen Strider's Grandmaster Meio, Mega Man's Dr. Light had a few lines in the section we played, and though M.O.D.O.K. isn't playable this time around, he still featured prominently in one story mode scene.

We also saw one interesting scene in Valkanda between Ryu, The Hulk, and Black Panther, the latter of which holds an Infinity Stone. They're joined by a monster hunter in what looks like a Rathalos armor set. The character was part of a roster leak earlier in the year, but when I asked Capcom about her potential inclusion as DLC, they said they had nothing to announce."

According to Game Informer, story mode also contains a number of unique match types. At one point, you're tasked with destroying a series of Ultron's minions, and if you don't do it fast enough, they'll deal damage to the city you're trying to project. Sounds like an interesting twist on the usual.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite brawls onto PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on September 19.
