Monster Hunter: World Shows Off The Grappling Hook With The Weirdest Video Ever

Capcom has been known to do some pretty odd things in the name of marketing, but this Monster Hunter: World promotional video showing off the game's grappling capabilities is definitely one of the weirder ones. The vibrantly coloured pirate is ... uh, eye catching. At least he looks happy?
Admittedly, we are a little jealous because he's playing Monster Hunter, and Monster Hunter is cool. Plus, the grappling hook does play to one of the game's strengths: its overall movement and general game mechanics are incredibly fluid and easy to maneuver. In a weird way, this latest trailer just makes us even more amped to see the game's full release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on January 26, 2018! So close!
More about the game:
"A new world awaits you, where a living, breathing ecosystem of flora and fauna is the setting for pulse-pounding battles against fearsome creatures using an arsenal of powerful weapons.
The beta features three quests set across two different maps: the dense, verdant foliage of the Ancient Forest and the arid sands of the Wildspire Waste. Track your prey across each of these unique landscapes, using the very environment itself to your advantage. Each quest features a different monster for you to try your hand at hunting, but you don't have to go it alone: up to four players can team up online in co-operative multiplayer.
As a hunter of monsters, your adventure brings you to an uncharted continent where you'll face off with a variety of deadly predators, each more fearsome than the next. This new land and its diverse inhabitants play a critical role in each quest as you strategically use the surrounding environment including terrain, vegetation and wildlife to your advantage in battle or become hindered by the hazards they present."
