New Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy Gameplay Clip Highlights Speedrunning

We're just a few weeks away from the arrival of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy on PlayStation 4, which is sure to present all sorts of nostalgic fun to fans who remember the original PlayStation games, as well as those curious as to where one of their favorite gaming mascots came from.
But apparently, the game will provide more than just fan service, as there's going to be a competitive side that will open up for it – speedrunning. At least, that's what's put on display with the latest gameplay clip for N. Sane Trilogy, which features Crash breezing his way through the Future Frenzy level from Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped.
In the level, Crash finds himself having to dodge a few different obstacles, like "flame walls" that turn on and off, as well as explosive crates that could be all sorts of trouble if he lands wrong.
But, as you can see from the gameplay above, a truly seasoned player should be able to get through the level with ease – and, hopefully, we'll see a feature introduced with the game that will enable the best speed run times to be posted, so you can see what kind of times you have to beat.
At the very least, speed running a level does guarantee you that you'll earn a Platinum Relic at the end, so there's a certain benefit when it comes to getting through it as quickly as you can. There's one you can find in each stage, so it's sure to add to the overall longevity of each game.
There are three different adventures that can be found in N. Sane Trilogy, including the original Crash Bandicoot; the sequel, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back; and, obviously, Warped. The real question is where fans will want to start, though we know a few die-hard players that will obviously go to the beginning and accomplish a run-through of all three games. (Yeah, but will they have the best times?!)
We're sure to see more of Crash Bandicoot in a couple of weeks at E3, so be sure to check back for more updates on the game.
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy will release on June 30th for PlayStation 4.
