Craving something a little more traditional? Did you lose your crap when Game Freak and Nintendo revealed Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow were coming to the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console? Get ready, because the next chapter of Game Freak's beloved series is finally hitting the 3DS for you to pick and up enjoy any time you want.
Nintendo revealed in a recent press release that fans will be getting much more than nostalgic warm and fuzzies when they pick up Gold or Silver on the 3DS, though. Diving back into these classics will actually offer an opportunity to enhance your experience with Pokemon Sun and Moon as well! From the release:
"Also, as a bonus for purchasing one of these great games for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems, Trainers will get a code that unlocks the Mythical Pokémon Celebi in their Pokémon Sun or Pokémon Moon game. Or, Trainers can hold on to the code and use it in either of the upcoming Pokémon Ultra Sun or Pokémon Ultra Moon games when they launch on Nov. 17. Purchase the Pokémon Gold Version or Pokémon Silver Version game in Nintendo eShop by Jan. 15, 2018, to receive a bonus digital code for a Nintendo 3DS home menu theme inspired by the version you bought."
