Nintendo made some brilliant strides in its marketing of the Switch leading up to launch, and now that it's a smash hit what is Nintendo to do? Keep marketing it, of course! Nintendo wants to make sure that the Switch gets into the hands of as many people as possible this summer, and it wants to make sure that no one is forgetting about the incredible 3DS family of systems and their ever-growing library. To that end, it has announced the "Summer of Play Tour!"

For dates and city listings, you can view the full press release right here.

"As part of its 2017 Summer of Play tour, Nintendo is taking its Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS family of systems across the country so families everywhere can experience the latest installments in these beloved franchises firsthand. From the critically acclaimed The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to games that offer social competitive fun like ARMS, Splatoon 2 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for Nintendo Switch, the 2017 Summer of Play tour is the perfect destination for kids and parents alike."

As mentioned, Nintendo wants to keep the 3DS family of systems in the spotlight as well, so families will get to try the New Nintendo 2DS XL during the event. New games like Hey! Pikimin and Miitopia will be in the spotlight. It should be a fantastic time for everyone in the family. New games, hit games, Nintendo characters and photo ops... We wanna go!

"For families looking to purchase Nintendo Switch or a new handheld in the Nintendo 3DS family of systems, the Summer of Play tour is the perfect opportunity to give these popular systems a try," said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America's Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

"And since each stop is filled with familiar Nintendo characters and camera-ready visuals, the tour is a great place to spend a summer afternoon, take photos and create long-lasting memories with everyone in the family."
