Watching media on the PlayStation 4 has always been a somewhat clunky experience. You select TV & Video on the system's scrolling menu, and a bunch of randomly-sorted apps slowly load up. If you want to switch from one app to another, you have to close your current app, then open another, which can be a sluggish process.

Well, today Sony updated the PS4's TV & Video hub. Here's how Sony describes the new setup:

"Whatever your favourite video content– movies or TV, live sports or gaming clips – now you can easily find it on your PlayStation 4. Today we're introducing a refresh to the TV & Video entertainment experience. The new TV & Video experience will help you find your favorites and discover new and exciting content from the PS4 streaming video services, all in one location. Instead of jumping in and out of all your different apps, find the best video on PS4 from one convenient spot."

Basically, all your video apps are still available via small icons at the top of the page, but the rest of the page is recommended lists of TV and movies. It looks a lot like Netflix's layout, which is definitely intentional. While this new presentation is arguably better than the old TV & Video dropdown, not everybody is pleased about having a bunch of "helpful" recommendations thrust in their face

The new TV & Video experience is currently only available in Australia, Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom, although its sure to be coming to North America and the rest of the world soon enough. So, get used to it now!
