Pokemon Direct Airing Tomorrow Morning, Big Announcement Expected

Stop everything. Clear your schedule for tomorrow morning. Start coughing and reeling now so your boss will believe you when you call in sick tomorrow; you have better things to do. Nintendo just announced a Pokémon Direct for tomorrow morning, June 6, at 7AM PT / 10AM ET. There were no specific details given. "Tune in... for Pokémon news in a special eight-minute Pokémon Direct." You can watch at the official direct site here, or on the Nintendo YouTube or Twitch channels.
Assuming the Direct does go live on Nintendo's YouTube and Twitch, we'll be hosting the stream live right here on WWG, so you can tune in early, read a little bit about what we're expecting to see, and watch the stream with us as it goes down. Then stick around to hear our official wrap-up.
So just what are we expecting to hear tomorrow? We think it's something big. We know it's just a week before E3 festivities, but it's interesting to note (via Dystify) that The Pokémon Company has never revealed a mainline Pokémon game during E3. If you're thinking tomorrow will be a inconsequential announcement just because it precedes E3, think again. Could this be the Pokémon Stars reveal or Sinnoh remake announcement that we've been waiting for?
As for the Sinnoh remakes, our own Pokémon guru Christian Hoffer points out in this article that a trailer for a new Pokémon movie shows some interesting Sinnoh tie-ins that could have been intentionally included to synergize with the release of the remakes. "The trailer reveals that Ash will team up with two new trainers to find the Legendary Pokemon Ho-Oh. What's interesting is that both those trainers have partner Pokemon from the Sinnoh region, despite the movie allegedly taking place during the earliest days of Ash's adventures."
As for Pokémon Stars, Eurogamer has stated very definitely that the game has been in the works for some time, and that it's planned to release on the Nintendo Switch some time this year. This information was reportedly coming from multiple sources which claimed that the game had been in development in tandem with Sun & Moon on the 3DS.
On the flip side, Hoffer points out here that a Pokémon game on the Switch at this stage in the Switch's life-cycle would be unconventional to say the least:
"The Pokemon series of games has never split up a 'generation' of games between multiple consoles, even when a new console is available and on the market. For example, Game Freak didn't switch over to making games for the Nintendo 3DS until 2013's Pokemon X & Y, even though the Nintendo 3DS had been out on the market for over two years. Affordability is also a major factor as to how Game Freak operates, and they've openly stated concerns about the Nintendo Switch's $300 price tag."
Anything could happen, and you won't want to miss it. I'm already hacking and gagging here in the office so I can take tomorrow off, and I suggest you do the same.
