What's the Next Event in Pokemon Go?

Fiery Summer Event
We've already had a Water-Type event and a Grass-Type event, so it makes sense that a Fire-Type event is on the way. The summer solstice is just a few weeks away, and it would make sense that the longest day of the year would be filled with these fiery Pokemon. Unlike the "Spring Bloom" or "Adventure Week" events, a Rock-Type event would actually feature some useful rare Pokemon. In addition to Charmander and Cyndaquil, the Fire-Type event could also feature Pokemon like Vulpix, Houndour, and Magmar that don't usually spawn in many biomes.
The Legendary Event
Niantic has given multiple hints that Legendary Pokemon are coming to Pokemon Go this summer, the only question is how they'll do it. The popular guess is that Niantic will organize some sort of "local" event, in which players travel to a city to participate in an event to get their hands on a Legendary Pokemon. But unless they're planning on running hundreds of events this summer, that method would deprive a lot of players of the chance to get Pokemon like Moltres, Mewtwo, or Lugia.
Everyone wants a Legendary Pokemon, and it'll be interesting to see how Niantic brings these super powerful Pokemon into the game.
Fighting-Type Gym Event
Last week, SlashGear reported on a purported Fighting-Type event that would coincide with the upcoming gym overhaul. Apparently, their "source" claimed that we'd see an increase of Fighting-Type spawns to help promote whatever changes Pokemon Go makes to its broken gym system.
Although Slashgear's timing was a bit off (they claimed the event would take place this weekend,) we admit that a Fighting-Type event would make sense. Players NEED Fighting-Type Pokemon on their team to beat Blissey, the ultra-annoying gym defender that can shrug off most attacks. Blissey is only weak against Fighting-Type Pokemon, so they'll still be a must have unless this gym overhaul is a lot more drastic than we thought.
Anniversary Event
We're just over a month away from Pokemon Go's one year anniversary and we're guessing that the game has something big planned to celebrate. The anniversary event could be anything, but we're guessing it will involve some kind of special Pokemon and longer lures. Could we see a new type of hat for Pikachu to wear? Or maybe the release of more Shiny Pokemon? We'll find out sometime in early July.
International Friendship Day
International Friendship Day is coming up on August 6th, and that sounds like the perfect excuse to decrease the distance it takes to collect Buddy Candies. Of course, International Friendship Day might also be the right time to add trading or 1v1 battles to the game, as players have frequently requested both features and are allegedly in development by Niantic.
