SMITE Introduces Cerberus, A New Conquest Map, Pantheons, And More

The team over at Hi-Rez Studios just dropped a brand new trailer revealing everything new coming to the world of SMITE. MOBA fans have a lot to look forward to with the revelations of The Conquest of Ragnarok Hades, including a new god, incoming pantheons, a brand new map, and more! We've even got some shiny new screenshots, in addition to the video above, to see more!
The fifth season will kick off in the Public Test Realm for Smite on January 17th and comes with it some highly anticipated changes to the title's gameplay, new lore-filled cosmetic adjustments to some familiar monsters, Jungle Fog returns, and a new map that is designed to be perfectly balanced. You can see the map reveal itself in the video below:
"The Season 5 map will feature perfect vertical symmetry between Order and Chaos," says the game's designer. "Lanes and Jungle paths will have the exact same shape on top and bottom. This balances the map, and removes timing differences to each side. Overall, this creates a more consistent gameplay experience."
But it's not just subtle tweaking and new makeovers! A brand new god makes a good fit for a new map, we'd say! Introducing Cerberus: Warden of the Underworld. In addition to the Underworld guardian, two other pantheons are expected to join the roster including Voodoo and Slavic - it will be interesting to see the picks for the latest additions! As for Cerberus himself, this god will go live with patch 4.5 on January 9th:
