Sony's E3 2017 press conference was a jam-packed show, featuring plenty of big franchises and exciting new announcements, and yet, a lot of PS4 owners were left with a major nagging question – where the heck was The Last of Us Part II? God of War and Spider-Man are great and all, but we need some more emotional devastation!

After much fan speculation and pleading, Sony and developer Naughty Dog finally unveiled The Last of Us Part II at last December's PlayStation Experience event. Fans were understandably hyped for a sequel to one of the most acclaimed games of all time, but Naughty Dog has kept their mouths clamped shut since the reveal. Most of us assumed we'd finally get more information at E3, but nope. So, what's the deal? Well, you can blame Naughty Dog's other upcoming game Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Here's what The Last of Us writer Neil Druckmann had to say on Twitter:

Well, I suppose that makes sense, and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy looks fantastic, but still…not even a The Last of Us Part II tease? I have room in my heart for more than one Naughty Dog game at once!

But hey, like I said, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is no slouch. You can check out the latest Lost Legacy trailer here, and Naughty Dog is promising more E3 gameplay:

"Alongside the story trailer, we're also debuting our new extended gameplay demo at E3. If you're visiting the show, be sure to come see us at the PlayStation booth and be among the first in the world to see it. If you're following along from home, don't worry - we've got you covered. Keep an eye out later this week for details on when you can see the E3 demo."

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy arrives exclusively on PS4 on August 22. The Last of Us Part II has yet to receive a release date.
