Every Actor That Didn't Get Cast As Cable

Michael Shannon
For the last month or so, Michael Shannon was the name people were expecting to hear with the Cable casting announcement.
A rumor began floating around, stating that Shannon and Brad Pitt were the finalists for the role. When it was revealed that Pitt was out of the running, all eyes turned toward Michael Shannon.
This would have been an interesting choice, but we'll never see what could have happened.
Brad Pitt
After some possible concept art of Brad Pitt as Cable surfaced online, it seemed like the guy was definitely in. This wasn't a surprise to many, as some outlets were reporting that a major A-list star was in the running.
However, no more than a few days later, it was revealed that Brad Pitt was out.
Director David Leitch later told ComicBook.com that Pitt was considered for the role, but the schedules didn't line-up.
David Harbour
David Harbour was a bit of a dark horse, seeing as how he's a much lesser-known star than Shannon or Pitt.
However, the Stranger Things star has been gaining a lot of popularity since the series aired on Netflix last year.
Harbour was another actor who was rumored to be a front-runner at one point, but he didn't make the cut.
Pierce Brosnan
Oh, the power of Twitter. Social media detectives started getting chatty about Pierce Brosnan's possible casting right around the time Logan was getting ready to hit theaters.
Brosnan posed for a picture with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, and many believed the three were hanging out to discuss the role of Cable.
About a month ago, Brosnan officially confirmed that he was never in the running for the role, and the three were just enjoying each others company.
Russell Crowe
Russell Crowe was one of the fan-favorite choices to play Cable, as the actor mentioned the role a couple of times on Twitter.
It wasn't just the fans that loved this choice though, as Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld publicly approved of the idea.
Crowe went as far as to test for the role, but nothing came of it.
Kyle Chandler
When the discussions about Cable's casting first began, Kyle Chandler's name appeared at the forefront.
Many believed that Chandler was former director Tim Miller's top choice, so a lot of those rumors went out the window with his departure.
Some people site the Cable casting as one of the biggest creative differences between Reynolds and Miller, and that the debate was a factor leading to Miller's departure from the project.
