While Marvel is holding various movie and television panels in the show's infamous Hall H, one notable group will be missing: the cast and crew for Agents of SHIELD. Even though they've had panels at each of the last four conventions, this year off and actor Clark Gregg thinks he knows why.

The actor — who plays Agent Phil Coulson, a fan-favorite in the Marvel Cinematic Universe — took to Twitter to share his humorous take on the ordeal.

"Really disappointed we won't get to hang out with the world's greatest fans at #SDCC17 #AgentsofSHIELD," Gregg tweeted. "The truth is Henry [Simmons] and Ian [De Caestecker] have become so sexy that SDPD and @marvel security could no longer guarantee their safety."

In all seriousness, the show probably decided to take a break as they're getting ready to gear up for their fifth season, a big feat for any network television show. However, Gregg's jokes didn't stop there.

"Last year even a team of actual Inhumans failed to prevent one (lucky) fan from nibbling off part of Iain's ear lobe. In all seriousness, we're really sorry to anyone who's disappointed," Gregg continued. "We consider our loyal badass fandom wholly responsible for S.5."

Gregg did mention the cast and crew could appear at this Fall's New York Comic Con before closing out with promising to find a way to provide a special thanks to "the bamfy #AgentsofSHIELD #DemAgents" family.
