Agents of SHIELD Midseason 4 Premiere: Darkhold Danger

Agents of SHIELD will return from midseason break with a season 4 storyline that has delved into dark magic, demons, and Ghost Riders (plural).

In the aftermath of defeating Eli Morrow (thanks to Robbie Reyes/Ghost Rider's sacrifice), there is apparently still some vital clean up to do - and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. have very strict mission parameters to make it happen.

In the clip above, we see new S.H.I.E.L.D. director Jeffrey Mace working with Phil Coulson and his team on how to properly dispose of The Darkhold, aka the book of evil whose power Morrow tried to harness. There is a noted reference to an "agent" they will visit who apparently has expertise in the mystic arts - will it be some kind of tie-in to Doctor Strange? Or a reference to something we've seen elsewhere in the show? We look forward to the answer...

Other than that, we get setup of the new storyline introduced by the midseason cliffhanger reveal that Aida has replaced Agent May with an LMD. With the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents now committed to wiping Aida clean, the increasingly sentient robot now has all the 'fight or flight' motivation to do something truly drastic.

Marvel's Agents of SHIELD stars Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Chloe Bennet as Daisy Johnson, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons, Henry Simmons as Agent Alphonso "Mack" MacKenzie and John Hannah as Holden Radcliffe.
