Marvel Comics' All-New Wolverine has followed former X-23 Laura Kinney, as she inherits the Wolverine mantle. The character has been one of the more popular of Marvel's 21st century creations, and is about to make her big screen debut in Logan next year.

As for the comic book version: With the upcoming release of All-New Wolverine #19, we'll get a new story arc called "Immune", which will see the female Wolverine getting a new costume, and dealing with a new enemy.

Gamespot reported that "Immune" will feature Laura getting an armored costume whose color scheme is closer to what Wolverine wore during his Uncanny X-Force days, only with more armor. Check out our photo gallery for the full image of the new suit.

All-New Wolverine writer Tom Taylor described the new suit as, "part of [her] growth. It all comes down to the amount of times Laura is hurt, or taken out of action. Just because she has a healing factor, doesn't mean she enjoys pain, or bullets ripping through her internal organs... This suit is designed to be bulletproof and generally more protective... It's also about stealth. It's a bit easier to hunt prey when you're not wearing bright yellow."

In addition to the new suit, "Immune" will see Wolverine battling a new alien threat. Taylor teased fans with the following early synopsis about the story arc:

"When an alien child crashes into a major city in an escape pod, it speaks one name before dying, "Laura Kinney." The child has succumbed to a virus. And now, an entire city is fast becoming infected.

With thousands falling sick from the alien contagion, the city is quarantined by SHIELD, working with other world governments and the superhero community. Only Wolverine can enter the contamination zone. But, if she enters, she can't walk out again."

Other story details include that the aliens will be a new species, and that we may see cameos from some of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s scientific-minded superheroes, who may have to aid Wolverine in stopping the contagion (Spider-Man, Beast, and Iron Man were name dropped as possibilities).

"Immune" kicks off in All-New Wolverine #19, written by Tom Taylor with art by Leonard Kirk. Cover art will be provided by Adam Kubert.
