Ant-Man And The Wasp Casts Star Wars, Game Of Thrones Actress Hannah John-Kamen

Ant-Man and the Wasp has made its first major casting move.

Killjoys actress Hannah John-Kamen has joined the Ant-Man sequel in a reportedly key but undisclosed role, Variety reports.

Marvel did not comment on the report.

John-Kamen joins returning stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, a.k.a. Ant-Man, and Evangeline Lily as Hope Van Dyne, who will take on her mother Janet Van Dyne's role as the Wasp. Michal Douglas is also expected to reprise his role as Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man, and Michael Pena, Tip "T.I." Harris and David Dastmalchian will also return.

Ant-Man director Peyton Reed will return for the sequel. Rudd and Gabriel Ferrari are writing the script. Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige is producing.

Plot details for Ant-Man and the Wasp are still being kept secret at this time.

Ant-Man outperformed expectations for Marvel when it was released in 2015, grossing $519 million worldwide, including $180 million domestic. Rudd reprised his role as Ant-Man to join Team Cap in Captain America: Civil War in 2016.

John-Kamen is an actress who has primarily appeared on television in shows including Black Mirror, Game of Thrones, Killjoys. She's begun transitioning into film, playing a First Order officer in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The rising star has also been cast in the lead role for Steven Spielberg's movie adaptation of bestselling science fiction novel Ready Player One movie.

Ant-Man and the Wasp is set to open in theaters on July 6, 2018.

In Ant-Man, forced out of his own company by former protégé Darren Cross, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) recruits the talents of Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), a master thief just released from prison. Lang becomes Ant-Man, trained by Pym and armed with a suit that allows him to shrink in size, possess superhuman strength and control an army of ants. The miniature hero must use his new skills to prevent Cross, also known as Yellowjacket, from perfecting the same technology and using it as a weapon for evil.

Ant-Man was directed by Peyton Reed, with a screenplay by Edgar Wright & Joe Cornish and Adam McKay & Paul Rudd, and stars Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Tip "T.I." Harris, Anthony Mackie, Wood Harris, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, and Michael Douglas.
