Karen Gillan Wants Nebula's Infinity Gauntlet Storyline in Avengers 3

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 actress Karen Gillan want to recreate one of her character's, Nebula, most iconic moments from Marvel Comics in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War.

As fans of the Marvel Comics' iconic Infinity Gauntlet event, which is the primary inspiration for Avengers: Infinity War, will remember, Nebula plays a hugely important role in the series. Gillan is also aware of that role and hopes to see a version of it play out in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

"I hope so. Of course, that would be amazing!" Gillan tells Screen Rant. "When I was preparing to play Nebula the first time, I read The Infinity Gauntlet. I loved it because it was like the most Nebula heavy comic and yeah, I mean that would be amazing if it does for that storyline. I'm hoping. I don't know yet – very big secret, but I'm hoping.

For those not familiar with Nebula's comic book history, she originally claimed to be Thanos' granddaughter (this claim would later be retconned to be something Nebula made up to bolster her reputation). When Nebula told Thanos this, he incinerated her and left her on the brink of death, but still alive.

Through most of the events of The Infinity Gauntlet, the charred Nebula hovered around Thanos' dais and watched him battle the Marvel heroes. Then, in a moment of overconfidence on Thanos' part, Nebula saw her moment at hand and took the Infinity Gauntlet for herself.

The Infinity Gauntlet restored Nebula's body and suddenly she became the most powerful being the Marvel Universe, if only for a brief time before losing the Infinity Gauntlet to Adam Warlock.

This was Nebula's biggest moment ever in the Marvel Comics universe. Is it any wonder that Gillan might want to see that moment come to pass in Avengers: Infinity War? The real question is, do the Russo Brothers and Kevin Feige feel the same way?
