Is Avengers 4 Looking To Tie In With Daredevil's Yakuza?

Avengers: Infinity War is currently winding down production while Marvel Studios prepares to dive into its fourth Avengers film. Dozens of heroes will suit up for both of the blockbusters, and the films will feature hundreds of extras from around the world. Now, a casting call for Avengers 4 is reportedly making its way around the Internet, and fans are thinking the details may nod to one of Marvel's television series.

Despite Marvel's stance on secrecy, Omega Underground claims to have uncovered a casting call for extras on Avengers 4. The details, which can be seen listed below, are looking for background actors who can play Japanese gangsters and cafe patrons. The first group intends to hire male talent between the ages of 20-49 while the latter wants mixed sexes of all ages.

Given the request for Japanese gangsters, fans are speculating how the Yakuza could be tied into Avengers 4. The Yakuza is the Japanese equivalent of the mafia, and the organization has a long history with Marvel storylines. The group has yet to be featured in any MCU feature, but the Yakuza has popped into Marvel's various Netflix series quite often.

In fact, Marvel's Daredevil is very deeply connected with the Yakuza. The organization has been an antagonistic force towards Matthew Murdock. The show has seen the Yakuza play a major role in seasons one and two as Wilson Fisk allied himself with one of the organization's leaders named Nobu. The second season then revealed the group was actually controlled by a more foreboding organization called The Hand, and the revelation led the Japanese mafia to infiltrate Marvel's Iron Fist when it debuted earlier this year.

Of course, Marvel fanatics will know that the MCU has shied away from tying in its Netflix series to its big-screen features. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has adamantly said there are no plans to crossover projects from the two mediums, but there is always a chance Avengers 4 could be the film which changes the precedent.

For now, fans will just have to wait and see how Avengers: Infinity War goes and whether it opens up the door to Daredevil's Yakuza ties. The Japanese extras are expected to begin filming sometime this summer as Avengers 4 stars production on July 17. It doesn't seem like the fourth Avengers will film will full-on introduce Daredevil or any of the Defenders to the team. However, it could be that Avengers 4 will nod to the organization's destructive presence in Hell's Kitchen as an aside, and such a note would be enough to make any Marvel fan geek out hard.
