With the upcoming spectacle Avengers: Infinity War currently filming, fans are curious to see just how the Marvel Cinematic Universe's slate of characters end up coming together. The film's current Scotland shoot has included an impressive array of Avengers characters, with Scarlet Witch, Vision, Captain America, Falcon, Hulk, and Thor all reportedly included in the mix.

And now, it appears at least one of the Guardians of the Galaxy will be there as well. Recent tweets have revealed that Rocket Raccoon - or, at least his stand-in - was recently seen in a scene at the Durham Cathedral.

For those unfamiliar with how Rocket is brought to life, the model you see above is likely just a placeholder for Rocket while filming the scene. The furry creature is actually acted out on-set by Sean Gunn (Kraglin in the Guardians films, and real-life brother of the franchise's director James Gunn). Gunn's performance is then used as the basis for Rocket's CGI, with Bradley Cooper putting the finishing touches by voicing the character.

With the Guardians being the center of attention right now - thanks to the recent release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 - fans are sure to be excited to see that Rocket will be making some new friends in Infinity War.

Avengers: Infinity War is described by Marvel Studios as the culmination of everything in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Iron Man in 2008. The movie is filming now under directors Anthony and Joe Russo, from a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

The expansive confirmed cast includes Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bethany, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Wong, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Pom Klementieff, and Josh Brolin as the villain Thanos. Avengers: Infinity War and its as-yet-untitled sequel are filming back-to-back for a May 4, 2018 and May 3, 2019 release, respectively.
