Avengers: Infinity War To Film in Scotland

It's going to be a busy year for Marvel Studios, that's for sure. 2017 marks the first year that the studio will release three movies - a big deal on its own - but it will also see the filming of several future projects.

Black Panther's solo movie will begin shooting this month in Atlanta, and the film is set to release in February of next year. The Ant-Man sequel, Ant-Man and The Wasp, is also rumored to begin shooting sometime in 2017.

The studio's most highly-anticipated film in their history is also currently filming, and it looks like the crew will be taking quite the trek to their new location.

Avengers: Infinity War, the third installment in the superhero team-up franchise, is reportedly heading to Scotland to film some of the movie. The Russo-directed film has shot studio scenes in Atlanta, but the Telegraph reports that areas in Scotland have been confirmed for the film.

According to the report, Infinity War will shoot scenes in Edinburgh, Glasgow, and the Highlands.

The Scottish Labour spokesperson Lewis MacDonald has excited to see such a big movie being filmed in his country. In his quote on the subject, he says he hopes Marvel will find a way to hire local workers.

"I hope the producers take advantage of the skills people in Scotland have to offer, so as many local people as possible can find work and Scotland's fantastic creative community can go from strength to strength."

Avengers: Infinity War is set to hit theaters May 4, 2018.
