Next year, war will be afoot for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Sure, the Avengers may have gone at it in Captain America: Civil War, but the heroic bunch have no clue what is in store for them. With Thanos determined to collect the Infinity Stones, the entire u universe will be put at risk when the Mad Titan makes his bid for cosmic power. The war between Thanos and Earth's mighty heroes will be an intense one, but the Avengers should have more help than ever. Folks like Doctor Strange will be able to help the icons facedown Thanos, and the man behind the socrerer's cape is now talking about the character's role in Avengers: Infinity War.

Speaking with Collider, Benedict Cumberbatch spoke briefly (and vaguely) about Doctor Strange's role in the third phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, the star did say this:

"What else could I be expected to say except that I'm thrilled," Cumberbatch started. "I feel like I've said it all before. It's very exciting, it was great to be in origin film that's done this well and I really enjoyed playing him, and even with the reshoots we did, it was great fun to put that costume and persona back on again, so I'm very excited to carry him forward. That's all I can really say today, you know. But I'm genuinely really, really excited. I've got a lot of fun to look forward with the Infinity Wars and I'm sure with his own standalone film again."

Continuing, Cumberbatch hinted at the work he's done with Avengers alumni. "Yeah, and you get a hint of that, obviously, with the tease during the credits sequence. That was great fun to do, and of the Avengers that I've met I'd love to work with all of them, I don't really have any favorites but they're terrific actors."

From Marvel comes DOCTOR STRANGE, the story of world-famous neurosurgeon Dr. Stephen Strange whose life changes forever after a horrific car accident robs him of the use of his hands. When traditional medicine fails him, he is forced to look for healing, and hope, in an unlikely place – a mysterious enclave known as Kamar-Taj. He quickly learns that this is not just a center for healing but also the front line of a battle against unseen dark forces bent on destroying our reality. Before long Strange – armed with newly acquired magical powers – is forced to choose whether to return to his life of fortune and status or leave it all behind to defend the world as the most powerful sorcerer in existence. Join Strange on his dangerous, mystifying, and totally mind-bending journey.

The cast features Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock, Star Into Darkness, The Imitation Game), Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave), Rachel McAdams (Sherlock Holmes), Michael Stuhlbarg (A Serious Man), Mads Mikkelsen (Casino Royale), and Tilda Swinton (The Grand Budapest Hotel).
