Black Panther Villain Will Have His Signature Weapon

Marvel's Black Panther is headed to the big screen and he's bringing one of his oldest enemies with him.

Andy Serkis will play Ulysses Klaue, the villain better known simply as Klaw, in Black Panther, reprising his role from Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Those familiar with Klaw from the Marvel Comics universe will know that the villain's primary weapon is a sonic emitter made from vibranium, the rare precious metal found only in the Black Panther's country of Wakanda, which Klaw uses as a prosthetic limb.

Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that Klaw will have a version of this weapon in Black Panther. Klaw is said to use an advanced piece of Wakandan mining equipment as a kind of sonic cannon attached in place of the arm he lost in Avengers: Age of Ultron. The reason the item does not appear in the Black Panther trailer released last night is that it was taken from him prior to his interrogation and is, in fact, likely what led the authorities to Klaw in the first place.

Black Panther is directed by Ryan Coogler from a screenplay co-written by Coogler and Joe Robert Cole. Black Panther stars Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa / Black Panther, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis.

Boseman debuted as Black Panther in Captain America: Civil War in 2016.

Filming on Black Panther took place from January through April of 2017.

Black Panther will be released on February 16, 2018.
