Black Panther: Martin Freeman's Everett Ross Spotted on Set

Marvel's Black Panther is now in production, with director Ryan Coogler (Creed) having begun principal photography in Atlanta, Georgia. Like with any Marvel movie, papprazzo both professional and amatuer are hovering close to the set, hoping to snap any and all photographs possible, in order to offer Marvel fans possible insights and spoilers about how the film is shaping up.

With Black Panther, photographers got a snap of one Marvel movie character who is making another appearance in Panther: Sherlock and The Hobbit star Martin Freeman!

Freeman of course joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Captain America: Civil War, playing Everett K. Ross, the government liason who helped detain Cap, Falcon, Black Panther and Winter Soldier, after their destructive showdown in Eastern Europe.

In Marvel Comics, Ross was a US State Department liason to foreign diplomats visiting America. He gained a spotlight when he was assigned to guide T'Challa/Black Panther on his tour of New York City. Ross would work alongside T'Challa for some time - but was also invovled in the US governement's designs on Black Panther's homeland of Wakanda, as well as helping Ulysses Klaw invade the country.

The Marvel Cinematic Unvierse version of Ross is the Deputy Task Force Commander of the Joint Counter Terrorist Centre, and has been working with General Ross to curtail and leash The Avengers. Ross ended Civil War by taking Zemo into custody, but his miltant stance on capturing Winter Soldier is still a looming question after the film.

What's important is that Ross has a shady, multi-sided comic book history that could factor into the MCU. Right now, it's unclear whose side Freeman's version of Ross is on - or what his allegiances will be in the Black Panther solo movie.
