'Black Panther' Star Shares Impressive Fan Cosplay

Black Panther's official release date is still a few weeks away, but some fans' excitement is already being put in the spotlight - courtesy of one of the film's stars.

Lupita Nyong'o, who plays Nakia in the Marvel Studios film, recently took to Twitter to highlight a female Black Panther cosplay, courtesy of Instagram user @lady.bane. You can check it out below.

Anticipation for Black Panther is growing more and more each day, with the film earning warm reactions from critics and breaking records in box office presales (so much so that Nyong'o couldn't even get tickets to the film's opening night). And it's safe to say that many are excited for the sort of new diversity and representation it will bring to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, something that Nyong'o is excited to see.

"In Kenya, I grew up watching Mexican soaps, Australian soaps, and American stuff," Nyong'o said in an interview late last year. "I didn't feel like TV was so diverse -- but I just too it in stride. What's really exciting about this is if I can project my humanity onto people who don't look like me, from cultures that aren't like mine, why on earth shouldn't it be the same in reverse? What we're talking about is the prominence of this particular film and how it is entering into a more mainstream cultural consciousness."

And while the MCU's Phase Four is currently a mystery, some have already begun to speculate about the possibility of seeing a female Black Panther onscreen. Seeing as Letitia Wright's character, Shuri, had donned the suit before in the comics, ComicBook.com recently asked her about the possibility.

"That's the kindest thing an interviewer has ever asked me," Wright said. "I hope, whenever the time is right, if it's meant to happen, I would happily do it. But you can't have a Shurimovie without T'Challa and you can't have a Shuri movie without Ramonda and Nakia and the rest of the Dora Milaje and Okoye. So, I guess, the question is: when can we have Black Panther 2?"

Black Panther hits theaters on February 16, 2018. Advanced tickets are on sale now wherever tickets are sold. Other upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movies include; Avengers: Infinity War on May 4th, Ant-Man and the Wasp on July 6th, Captain Marvel on March 8, 2019, the fourth Avengers movie on May 3, 2019, the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming on July 5, 2019, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in 2020.
