Captain America: Civil War showed no signs of slowing down during its second weekend in American theatres. The newest Marvel movie is projected to make over $70 million this weekend, keeping it at the top spot in box office earnings. If Captain America reaches its projected second weekend sales, the movie should reach over $800 million in ticket sales worldwide.

Captain America: Civil War's projected big weekend puts it in elite company. Only six other movies, including Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the two Avengers movies, Jurassic World, The Dark Knight and Avatar, have ever made more than $70 million in their second weekend in theatres.

Disney's Jungle Book is projected to come in second at the box office this weekend and should also surpass the $800 million global box office mark. The George Clooney film Money Monster is projected to come in third with $15 million.
