Deadpool 2 Star Describes Sequel’s Weasel Storyline

Deadpool 2 will set forth on production shortly, and the film is slated to feature lots of familiar faces. T.J. Miller will come back as Weasel, Wade Wilson's snarky best friend, and the taxi driver Dopinder will also return for the highly anticipated sequel. Now, according to one star, the fan-favorite pair will finally come together for one hilarious storyline.

Recently, Miller teased fans about the sequel's slapstick storyline during an interview with ScreenRant. The actor sat down to talk about his role in the Emoji Movie, but he took the time to speak about Deadpool 2. It was during his interview that Miller said Weasel will get to meet Dopinder in the sequel.

"We're shooting in August and September and it's going to be even more Weaselicious," Miller teased.

"The cab driver, Karan Soni, and Weasel have a pretty funny storyline, which I'm not positive is going to be in [the movie], but they were talking about it and it was really making me laugh," he continued. "And I like him, I did Office Christmas Party with him, and he's very funny, very quick and so — because we didn't cross paths in the original film. … So y'know [fans can expect] stuff like that. I think they're really building out the world and deciding kind of what's next.

Fans of Deadpool are happy to hear Weasel and Dopinder may team up in the movie's sequel. Wade's best friend was an instant favorite amongst fans, and Dopinder's taxi services were praised by moviegoers everywhere. The unlikely duo may team up in Deadpool 2 to provide assistance to the mouthy merc during a climactic fight. Or, at the very least, Dopinder might wind up giving Weasel a lift after Deadpool strikes down his newest nemeses.

Still, it doesn't sound like Miller is positive the Weasel/Dopinder scene will make the sequel's final cut. Deadpool 2 will introduce several new characters like Cable and Domino to its roster, so the film will have to carve out introductory time for them. Deadpool 2 has high expectations to live up to now since its first film was such a massive hit. So, hopefully, Weasel and Dopinder will be able to help the sequel along and leave moviegoers laughing over their supporting bits.

David Leitch will direct the sequel, taking over for original Deadpool director Tim Miller. Fox is reportedly aiming for a June start of production in Vancouver. Ryan Reynolds will return as Wade Wilson, a.k.a. Deadpool, the Merc with a Mouth. For the sequel, he'll be joined by Josh Brolin as Cable. Cable was co-created by Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld and Louise Simonson. He has often been paired with Deadpool as his grim, serious demeanor serves as the perfect foil to Deadpool's crude and zany humor. The duo headlined an ongoing comic book series, Cable & Deadpool, for 50 issues.

Atlanta star Zazie Beetz has also been cast in Deadpool 2. She will play Domino, a mutant with probability manipulation abilities that endows her with improbably good luck. In the Marvel Comics Universe, Domino was a member of Cable's mercenary crew, Six Pack, and one of his early love interests.
