What Stranger Things' David Harbour Could Look Like As Cable In Deadpool 2

There is, arguably, no casting announcement in superhero cinema as hotly anticipated as that of Cable in the Deadpool sequel.

Cable's role was first teased in the after-the-credits scene in Deadpool. The Deadpool "No Good Deed" short released with Logan doubled down on the idea by placing graffiti that reads "Nathan Summers is coming" on the phone booth Deadpool uses to change into his costume.

Since the release of Deadpool, several actors have been mentioned as possible contenders for the role. They range from blockbuster stars to relative unknowns. The list includes Kyle Chandler, Pierce Brosnan, Michael Shannon and Russell Crowe. Last week, yet another name was thrown into the mix. Stranger Things star David Harbour is in the running to play Cable, and he's even gotten so far as to do some screen tests with Deadpool himself, Ryan Reynolds.

Does that mean we're on the cusp of an official Cable casting reveal? That remains unclear, but we can imagine, and so can popular fan artist BossLogic, who used photoshop to imagine what Harbour may look like as Cable if he does land the role.

Up Next: Who Is Nathan Summers?

You can see BossLogic's full piece in the gallery below, along with his imaginings of Crowe, Brosnan, and even Dolph Lundgren in the role, and many other pieces of his work.

Based upon Marvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Deadpool stars Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T.J. Miller, Gina Carano, Leslie Uggams, Brianna Hildebrand, and Stefan Kapičić.

The Deadpool movie's sequel is currently in pre-production. Reynolds will return with writer Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese. David Leitch will direct. The film will introduce Deadpool's time-traveling mutant partner, Cable, as well as X-Force member Domino. Members of the original film's supporting cast are also expected to return.
