Deadpool Is Killing The Marvel Universe One More Time

The Marvel Universe was decimated once before thanks to the violent murder spree Deadpool enacted upon it. The action took place in Marvel's Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe, and now it seems Wade Wilson is coming back for another round of destructive mayhem.

Marvel editor and chief Axel Alonso recently revealed a cover for the just announced series, aptly titled Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe Again. The image shows Deadpool with several puppets of heroes like Spider-Man, Punisher, Wolverine, and Captain America as a battle takes place behind him in the shadows, with the simple caption "Respawn".

The fun of the first series was just seeing the increasingly creative and intelligent ways that Deadpool took the giants of the Marvel Universe down. For every straightforward approach, there was a unique one to counter, like when he reveals to Luke Cage that he planted tiny bombs (thanks to some Pym particles) in his coffee, exploding him from the inside. The same goes for Thor, who was destroyed by his own hammer thanks to some tampering from Wade.

The first series was written by Cullen Bunn with art by Dalibor Talajic and was released back in 2013. Since then the Marvel universe has changed immensely, so it will be interesting to see his approach to newer fixtures like Laura Kinney (Wolverine), Two Thors, multiple Iron Men, and a variety of Spider characters. The X-Men and Inhumans have also taken on different roles within the universe over the past few years, so there are plenty of new fights to keep things fresh.

Marvel did not announce if Bunn will be returning to write the series, though Dave Johnson did provide the art for the teaser image. You can view the image in the gallery, and the official description for the original series can be located below.

What if everything you thought was funny about Deadpool was actually just disturbing? What if he decided to kill everyone and everything that makes up the Marvel Universe? What if he actually pulled it off? Would that be FUN for you? The Merc with a Mouth takes a turn for the twisted in a horror comic like no other!
