Deadpool Makes Fun Of "Martha" Scene In Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice Once Again

Last year's hit superhero film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice proved to be a financial success while drawing mixed reviews from both fans and critics. But more than 17 months later it's still providing comedic fodder for DC Comics' competitors in the publishing space.

Deadpool, and to an extent Marvel as a whole, has already poked fun at the climactic "Martha" scene in last year's Spider-Man/Deadpool #6. And then Domino got in on the action in the Uncanny X-Men Annual #1.

Now the Merc With The Mouth is at it again in last week's Deadpool Versus The Punisher #5, the final issue of the shoot-'em-up series pitting Wade Wilson against Frank Castle.

The former Thunderbolts teammates are having it out in a money launderer's vault, with Deadpool set to deliver the killing blow. The Punisher begins to utter a very colorful dysphemism which causes the scene to start.

Deadpool launches into a rant that probably would have worked well in the actual movie, considering the silliness of the entire scene, before he is interrupted by the Punisher who offers some bad news: his mom's name is Louise, not Martha.

No "Martha?" Well, that changes everything.

The series shifts gears a bit with a humorous ending, daring to ask the question of "what's better: healing factor or no healing factor" (we'll let you guess the answer) to cap off the miniseries.

It's a fitting end to a fun series, one which you should be able to find every issue in stores or online now ahead of its trade paperback release.

Deadpool will take on the Marvel Universe once again in the forthcoming series aptly titled Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe Again.
