Deadpool may have some up short at the Golden Globe awards, but the fact that the film even received nominations at the ceremony goes a long way in proving its greatness.

In order to take the hit franchise to the next level, the Merc with a Mouth is going to need some assistance. Unfortunately, that help isn't on the way quite yet.

Deadpool 2 has been confirmed to include Cable, the long-time counterpart to the title character, and the creative team behind the film has been searching for the right actor to take on the rugged mercenary. Many thought that the announcement of Cable's casting could happen soon, but Ryan Reynolds doesn't seem quite as confident.

While being interviewed by MTV News at the Golden Globes, Reynolds was asked about the search for Cable. Quickly, the actor shook his head and shot down our dreams of new Deadpool news.

"Still working on it, everybody's still working on it. We're not gonna start 'til we're ready."

Originally, Kyle Chandler had emerged as the frontrunner to play Cable, but many think that ship sailed with the change in director. After Tim Miller left Deadpool 2, Chandler's name hasn't been mentioned all that often.

There hasn't even been many solid rumors regarding the Cable casting as of yet. No big names have been floating around when the character's name has been mentioned - so it's seemingly anybody's game.

The great takeaway though, is that Reynolds and his creative team have committed to only making the best movie possible. They won't start until every piece is in place, guaranteeing fans that they will have everything under control when the movie starts filming.
