Deadpool's Ryan Reynolds Is Getting Star On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame

Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds will be adding a new honor to his resume today, as he is set to join 2,596 other Hollywood elites that hold a special place on Hollywood boulevard.

Reynolds will be receiving his very own space on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame (via CBS Los Angeles). The ceremony is set to take place at 11:30 a.m., and he will take the stage along with Anna Faris, Rhett Reese, and Paul Wernick. Faris and Reynolds co-starred in the fan favorite Waiting..., and teamed up again in Just Friends. Reese and Wernick wrote the screenplay for Reynold's immensely successful Deadpool, and are also working with Reynolds again on the sequel.

It's been a banner year for Reynolds, who along with director Tim Miller successfully brought the merc with a mouth to the big screen. The film was made for a paltry $58 million and managed to rake in over $363 million domestically with a worldwide cume of $782 million. It's no wonder that FOX wasted no time in greenlighting a sequel, though there has been some shakeup in the creative team, as Miller stepped away from the sequel earlier this year.

In addition to Deadpool 2, Reynolds also has the Daniel Espinosa-directed Life coming up early next year, which pairs him again with screenwriters Reese and Wernick. The film also stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Rebecca Ferguson, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Ariyon Bakare. In August Reynolds will star in the Patrick Hughes-directed The Hitman's Bodyguard. The cast also includes Samuel L. Jackson, Salma Hayek, Gary Oldman, Elodie Yung, Joaquim de Almeida, and Kirsty Mitchell.

As for Deadpool 2, it is slated to start shooting in June of next year.
