If you, like us, are shocked to learn that there are not currently any Gwenpool figures on the market, prepare yourselves for the sweet, sweet release of being proven right: one is coming!

Diamond Select Toys has provided ComicBook.com with an exclusive first look at their upcoming Marvel Gallery Gwenpool PVC Diorama, due in stores this summer.

The sculpt, which features a pose familiar to fans of Gwenpool comics, sees the character wielding her sword and a pink cellphone with equal passion, posing for a selfie while doing her thing (terrified Hydra Agent not included).

The story of Gwenpool's rise to popularity is surreal and meta -- just like she is. Gwen Poole supposedly arrived in the Marvel Universe from the "real world" and decided to be a superhero becuase she didn't want to be one of the nameless background extras in comics.

The character design originated as an amalgam of Gwen Stacy and Deadpool from a variant cover of Deadpool's Secret Secret Wars #2 by Chris Bachalo -- but unlike Spider-Gwen, she isn't actually a version of Gwen Stacy, but a person whose actual name is Gwen Poole. The costume is because her tailor misread the order and assumed she wanted to be dressed like Deadpool.

You can check out the images (and Diamond's official write-up of the PVC figure) below.

A Diamond Select Toys Release! When Gwenpool takes a selfie, it's time to practice your selfie-defense! Coming from a world where everyone in the Marvel Universe is just a comic book character, Gwen Poole is a rookie mercenary on the rise, and she feels no guilt when her targets are fictional! This 9-inch sculpture, the first merchandise ever made of the hot new character, is made out of PVC plastic and features detailed sculpting and paint, atop a circular Gwenpool logo base. In scale to all Gallery and Femme Fatales PVC figures, Gwenpool comes packaged in a full-color window box. Sculpted by Alejandro Pereira!

PVC Diorama SRP: $45.00
Release Date: Summer 2017
