EXCLUSIVE: Foolkiller #1 Marvel Preview

One of the many accomplishments Deadpool touts on his resume is his ability to make old characters relevant, and he did exactly that with Foolkiller.

Foolkiller, who's real name is Greg Salinger, has been running around with Wade Wilson in the pages of Deadpool: Mercs For Money, but now the mercenary is getting his very own series. Foolkiller will be written by Max Bemis (lead singer of Say Anything) with Dalibor Talajic on art duties, and ComicBook.com has an exclusive first look at several pages from the upcoming issue, which can be viewed in the gallery.

Also viewable in the gallery is a new Rob Liefeld variant cover, which will be available when the book launches later this year.

Bemis recently told Marvel.com how Salinger's degree in psychology will factor into the series.

"To me, it's the whole reason. I'd like to build the book to the point where there's more things that are actually about the book but you never know where it's going to go. In terms of straight up conceptually I think that's what distinguishes this book from the average. It's this tone—hopefully it's written in this way—the very concept of a vigilante therapist is definitely something that hasn't been done."

"It reminds me a lot of Dexter in a way. He's coming from opposing place of being a killer and wanting to stop the killers. A vigilante—with various degrees of success—trying to analyze the world around them and analyze themselves through the lens of psychology."

Greg Salinger was just your typical merc for hire - Foolkiller - killing those that he deemed to be "foolish." And for money. But that life is behind him now. Today, he's a psychiatrist, trying to help others. But now SHIELD wants him to try to rehabilitate super villains. The catch? If these "patients" don't make enough progress, they're dead!

Foolkiller #1 hits comic shops on November 2nd.
