Marvel Comics has provided ComicBook.com with an exclusive preview of Spider-Man #5, from writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Sara Pichelli.

Miles Morales has had a busy life since he left the Ultimate Marvel universe behind and became part of the main Marvel universe following the events of Secret Wars. He's been forced to balance his studies with being Spider-Man and being a member of the Avengers alongside his new friends, Ms. Marvel, and Nova. Things have only gotten more complicated now that Felicia Hardy a.k.a. the Black Cat and Queenpin of New York has taken an interest in the young hero. But what does Black Cat want with Miles Morales? She makes her move this issue!

The exclusive preview pages show Spider-Man as a prisoner of the Black Cat and her accomplice, Hammerhead. The villains have unmasked Miles and discuss how they may be taking out their frustrations with the original Spider-Man (Peter Parker, who is now the jet-setting CEO of Park Industries) on this new Spider-Man. Nonetheless, they try to identify the unconscious Miles but find no records of his existence anywhere. Hammerhead worries that this is S.H.I.E.L.D.'s doing, but Miles regains consciousness just enough to sting one of his captors.

Spider-Man #5 hits comic shops and digital comic storefronts on June 29, 2016. Check out the preview pages in the gallery at the bottom of this article.
