Exclusive Marvel Preview: The Punisher #2

Marvel Comics has provided ComicBook.com with an exclusive preview of The Punisher #2, the new series from writer Becky Cloonan and artist Steve Dillon, with covers by Declan Shalvey. With Frank Castle's Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Marvel's Daredevil Season 2, which will spinout into a Punisher Netflix TV series, the new comic book series is well positioned to capitalize on the recent surge of excitement for the character.

"Things are going to start out in a familiar enough place, but soon The Punisher is going to find himself in an unfamiliar environment without a lot of the things he usually relies on," Cloonan told ComicBook.com of the series when it was first announced. "We are going to strip away some of his layers, and push him right to the limit. I want to see how far he'll go to accomplish his goals. A few people have said some of the stuff we are planning is reminiscent of Punisher MAX, which is nothing but the highest of compliments!"

After a by-the-numbers drug bust took him by surprise the series' debut issue, The Punisher #2 sees Frank Castle hitting the road to hunt down his latest target. However, Frank is both hunter and hunted, as a DEA agent is following close behind.
