Groot And Rocket Animated Statue Announced By Gentle Giant

The lovable tree named Groot and his lethal pal Rocket Raccoon have been given the animated statue treatment, and they are magnificent.

The two Guardians of the Galaxy members are the ninth entry in Gentle Giant LTD's animated statue line. The line is based on the popular artwork of Skottie Young, and it already includes the group's leader Star-Lord.

Groot is in rare form here, incredibly enthusiastic about something, and his joy would seem to be infectious to just about everyone except for Rocket. Rocket finds himself less than amused perched on Groot's right hand, though knowing him he'll most likely come around before you know it.

The statue was digitally sculpted and printed on specialized 3D printers, which the sculptors at Gentle Giant LTD used as a model from which to work from. Everything is hand cast, hand-painted, and hand-numbered, and they all come with a certificate of authenticity.

Groot and Rocket are available for pre-order now for $64.99, and are expected to ship sometime in Quarter 2 of this year.
