Would Get Out Director Jordan Peele Consider Helming A Superhero Movie?

Jordan Peele has just catapulted himself into the higher Hollywood echelon's with the release of his directorial debut.

The horror film Get Out is being critically heralded, holding a better Rotten Tomatoes score than the forthcoming Logan, and is a financial success for its low budget. And now that he's made a name for himself beyond the sketch comedy stylings of Key & Peele, there could be better offers waiting in the wings.

But that doesn't mean Peele is going to take them.

While speaking with Screen Junkies, the comedian-actor-writer-director said that working on a big budget film for a company like Marvel Studios probably isn't in the cards for him.

"My whole life, I've been like, 'Oh, man, wouldn't it be dope to be a part of one of these great reboots or revivals?'" Peele said. "Over the past eight years, I've come up with four other scripts in the social horror genre."

Peele elaborated that he wants to keep delivering films like Get Out.

"I think what people love about this movie so far is that they can't see it anywhere else. It's sort of a unique film, so I feel like my responsibility to the world at this point is to keep making original films," Peele added, "Try to do some elevated horror, fun horror, that says something. I think that's what I'm here for."


Normally Marvel tries to snatch up these indie-darling auteurs to groom them for big budget success, but Peele isn't interested.

Which is totally fine so long as we keep getting wonderful films like Get Out.
