Iron Fist Stars Tease Steel Serpent

It sounds like Marvel's Iron Fist may have some surprises in store for longtime Marvel Comics readers. Two of the show's stars may have nearly spoiled a surprise appearance by one of Iron Fist's oldest enemies, the Steel Serpent.

The near spoiler came while Iron Fist stars Finn Jones and Jessica Henwick were speaking to the press in New York City.

"There are two characters who come into the second half of Iron Fist season one who haven't been announced yet," said Jessica Henwick, according to Yahoo.

"It's so frustrating not being able to announce them," added Jones.

"It's so frustrating because they knock it out of the park," confirmed Henwick. "But there's one in particular who fans are… it's a comic book character who's not been seen before and at the end of Iron Fist they set him up in a really interesting way… I think for me, that's the most interesting relationship on the show."

Yahoo pressed the stars on this by bringing up the Steel Serpent, also known as Davos.

"Maybe that's what we were just errr… My publicist is looking at me with devil eyes," Jones said, then laughed. "Hey look, that's going to be announced very soon so I wouldn't be surprised if that's announced before these [interviews] even come to print."

"I think you guys will be able to figure out who we're talking about," hinted Henwick.

The early reviews of Marvel's Iron Fist, based on the first six episodes of the season, have not been kind to the Netflix series. However, those episodes take place before these mystery villains appear. Could some new challengers lift the show to new heights in the back half?

In Marvel's Iron Fist, fifteen years after being presumed dead in a plane crash, Danny Rand (Finn Jones) mysteriously returns to New York City determined to reclaim his birthright and family company. However, when a long-destined enemy rises in New York, this living weapon is forced to choose between his family's legacy and his duties as the Iron Fist.

Marvel's Iron Fist is developed by Scott Buck, who serves as the series showrunner. Iron Fist stars Finn Jones as Danny Rand, the Iron Fist, as well as Jessica Henwick, David Wenham, Jessica Stroup, Tom Pelphrey, and Rosario Dawson. The series is the fourth marvel Television show on Netflix and will lead in Marvel's The Defenders crossover miniseries.

Marvel's Iron Fist debuts on Netflix on March 17, 2017.
