Marvel Still Hasn't Discussed Bringing Heroes For Hire To Netflix

Fans will get to see the four core heroes of Netflix's Marvel Cinematic Universe shows unite next month in The Defenders. But for two of the miniseries' characters, there are no plans to officially adapt their storied comic book relationship onscreen.

Finn Jones, who plays Danny Rand/Iron Fist in the MCU, recently addressed the potential for a live-action Heroes for Hire series. For the uninitiated, Heroes for Hire is the team-up between Danny and Luke Cage, who form a sort of private investigation-like superhero security agency. But according to Jones, there is not a current discussion to bring the duo officially onto Netflix.

"First, I would love to see Heroes For Hire." Jones revealed to ScreenGeek. "There's not been any talks about that so far – but working with Mike is brilliant. He's a great actor and a great human being. We just have a really good natural chemistry together both as actors – but also as the characters as well."

But according to Jones, fans will get a significant dose of Danny and Luke's relationship with The Defenders.

"One of the greatest things about The Defenders," Jones explained, "and the way that Marco Ramirez wrote it was [that] he really wrote great scenes for me and Mike. I think people are going to be really pleased when they see them because there's this awesome Heroes for Hire sort of connection."

Fans will just have to wait until The Defenders premieres in August to see the beginnings of Danny and Luke's dynamic.

The Defenders stars Charlie Cox (Daredevil/Matt Murdock), Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Finn Jones (Iron Fist), Jessica Henwick (Colleen Wing), Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple), Sigourney Weaver (Alexandra), Elodie Yung (Elektra Natchios), Babs Olusanmokun (Sowande), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), Simone Missick (Misty Knight), Rachel Taylor (Trish Walker), Scott Glenn (Stick), Eka Darville (Malcolm Ducasse), Debbi Morgan (Delores), Carrie-Anne Moss (Jeri Hogarth), and Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page).

Daredevil seasons 1 and 2, Jessica Jones season 1, Luke Cage season 1, and Iron Fist season 1 are all available on Netflix now, while The Defenders is expected later in the year. The Punisher is set for a November release date. Netflix has announced a second season of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, and a third season of Daredevil, but no release dates have been announced for those either.
