Marvel Releases Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Behind-the-Scenes Shots

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is on the way this May, and with the explosion of news from last spring's set visit comes a deeper-than-ever look at the cosmic adventures of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While you can dig around the rest of ComicBook.com for our patented deep dive into interviews with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, writer/director James Gunn, and most of the cast of this highly-anticipated film, Marvel Studios also provided us with a new gallery of behind-the-scenes images that show the team off while they were actually shooting the film.

It starts with a couple of shots of the cockpit of the Milano - the cockpit is built on pneumatic pumps, while the cargo hold/living space is a separate, stationary set. We can see Star-Lord, played by Chris Pratt, at the helm in one shot, while he talks with Gunn and another crew member in the second one.

The next shot sees Pratt and Gunn having a chat, while Pratt seems to be mid-dance, listening to his Walkman. he also has skittles in his hand so... yeah, got nothing, maybe he just likes tasting the rainbow, okay?

A look at most of the team on a planetary landscape with some kind of giant fungus behind them is next, and Drax (Dave Bautista), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Gamora (Karen Gillan), Yondu (Michael Rooker), and Star-Lord look deathly serious. Also, gotta feel for the VFX team here, working with two blue aliens against a bluescreen - not like they could use green any easier, though.

Gamora gets the spotlight in two more images, and Star-Lord in what looks like a giant sewer pipe (out of the first trailer) is the final one. Gamora is heavily in action - running either away from or toward danger, so yeah, there's gonna be some big booms in this movie.
