Marvel Releases New X-Men Costume Designs

Costume changes are one of the most entertaining aspects of comics, as they constantly provide a chance to debate what you do and don't like about the current design, which of their older suits was your favorite, and what you would like to see in the future. It's basically the armchair quarterbacking of comics.

Get those debates prepped then, as the always popular X-Men are getting some new duds in the upcoming X-Men Prime issue #1. X-Men Prime #1 is an oversized special coming in March of 2017 that sets the stage for the upcoming RessurXion event. If you've been keeping up with the X-books, you know the X-Men and the Inhumans are currently at war with each other thanks to the deadly effects of the Terrigen mists on the mutant population.

It remains to be seen how the two sides come to terms, but when RessurXion hits it will certainly be time for a few new looks. Artist Ardian Syaf has taken to giving some of the X-Men a fresh design, including popular members like Colossus, Kitty Pryde, Cyclops, and Jean Grey. Colossus has always favored the red and yellow color scheme, and this version of the costume might be one of the better designs in recent memory. It also seems that Storm is going with an homage to her classic black costume, complete with the return of her long flowing white hair.

You can view some of the redesigns in the gallery, and the official description of the issue can be found below.

Incoming X-Men Gold scribe Marc Guggenheim (Wolverine, X-Men) and artist Ken Lashley (Uncanny X-Men) bring you X-MEN PRIME #1! In the wake of Inhumans vs. X-Men, who will pick up the pieces? Where do they go from here? Professor Xavier's dream comes full circle as Kitty Pryde returns home, ready to lead her people. To take the X-Men to new heights with new teams, new missions, and a new school. To move forward and protect the world that hates and fears them. The next chapter of X-Men begins here!
